Action Alert: Net Neutrality Vote This Week!

This week, a vote will be held on S.J.Res. 6, "a joint resolution disapproving the rule submitted by the Federal Communications Commission with respect to regulating the Internet and broadband industry practices."

Though so-called "net neutrality" rules were never passed by Congress, this year, the FCC attempted to push through their own regulations, currently set to go in effect on November 20.

This is a measure of importance worth contacting your senators about.  In April, the House passed the resolution H.J.Res. 37 by a vote of 240-179. The resolution only needs a simple majority to pass, so if all Republicans vote in favor four Democrats would still have to join them for passage.

Contact your senators today at 202-224-3121 and urge them to support S.J.Res. 6 to disapprove of the FCC's attempt to regulate the internet!
