Action Alert: Tell Congress to Vote NO on Sandy "Relief" - Update

Below is an urgent legislative update from C4L President John Tate:

In just a few hours, the U.S. House is expected to vote on a Hurricane Sandy "disaster relief" bill slammed full of BILLIONS of dollars in wasteful spending.

That's why it's vital you call your U.S. Representative at (202) 224-3121 and DEMAND they vote against the Sandy Relief Bill.

In typical statist fashion, the big spenders are planning to use so-called "disaster relief" legislation to fund their pet projects with billions in taxpayer dollars.

As I'm sure you remember, earlier this month, the House approved $9 BILLION in disaster relief for Hurricane Sandy.

But apparently that's not enough for the tax-and-spenders.

Now they're attempting to RAM THROUGH potentially up to $51 BILLION in wasteful spending.

$150 million for fisheries in Mississippi and Alaska.

A $20,000 new car for the Inspector General of the Justice Department. Over $10 BILLION for the Federal Transportation Administration.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The Sandy relief package is also full of massive Big Labor kickbacks to union bosses in New Jersey and New York.

This bill is so bad that one amendment alone adds $33 BILLION in taxpayer funding for items not directly related to Sandy relief.

According to the tax-and-spenders, the money is for "anticipated needs."

The House is expected to vote on this massive spending bill in the next few hours.

So please, call your U.S. Representative at (202) 224-3121 and DEMAND they vote against the Sandy Relief Bill at every opportunity.

Let them know that the American people have had enough of the Big Government, big spending status quo in Washington.

Please call Congress NOW!

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

UPDATE: The House adopted the Frelinghuysen amendment which added $33 Billion to the Sandy "relief" package by a vote of 228-192. Shortly thereafter, the House passed the Sandy "relief" bill by a vote of 241-180.

38 Republicans voted with 190 Democrats in adopting the Frelinghuysen amendment, with 2 Democrats and 190 Republicans voting no. 49 Republicans voted for final passage with 192 Democrats, while 179 Republicans and 1 Democrat voted no.
