The 2024 Texas primary is now just weeks away.

And the threat of a bunch of swamp-dwelling, authoritarian politicians continuing to infest government at all levels is hard to overstate. . .

Just consider how your liberty has been under assault from Washington, D.C. -- and even right here in Texas -- over the years.

But Big Government-loving politicians from both sides of the aisle, along with their special interest pals, probably think they already have the elections all wrapped up.

They are likely already planning how they can game the system for their benefit at our loss once they get their candidates in office.

It’s up to you and me to prove them wrong.

It’s true that many politicians have gotten comfortable repeating their favorite talking points and safely winning re-election year after year.

They count on you to forget their voting records and their refusal to fight for your liberty and put party “loyalty” over principle . . . while expecting you will give them your vote without question -- if you vote at all.

“Party over principle” and voter apathy have led to loss of liberty, and it’s time to put an end to this destructive cycle.

But how do we go about interrupting this cycle?

We must force candidates out of their comfort zones by demanding real answers to important liberty questions rather than letting politicians parrot meaningless talking points.

We must learn where candidates stand on important issues, so we are prepared for the legislative season.

And we must open the lines of communication between you and your would-be lawmakers now so they will be expecting you to keep a watchful eye on them later.

That’s why Campaign for Liberty is working on a survey program to put candidates for state and federal office on the record on important liberty issues.

You can view the list of questions and primary candidates for the state legislature here.

Click here to view the questions and primary candidates for U.S. House and Senate.

Survey responses have begun to trickle in, but just one week remains before the response deadline expires.

As we work toward liberty, it is imperative to have current and potential legislators on record concerning constitutional issues.

Many candidates will not want to go on record with their position on issues that are important to you. They would prefer to stick to their tired talking points, and they will ignore our survey unless you -- their potential constituents -- provide a little inspiration.

If candidates can’t answer basic liberty questions, they certainly can’t be trusted to vote correctly if elected.

So please call or visit the candidates in your area and ask them to complete and send in their Campaign for Liberty survey.

Their deadline to answer is February 15, and all results will be posted shortly after the deadline.

Politicians prefer to travel the path of least resistance. By applying enough pressure, you and I can force them on the record on key liberty issues.

Campaign for Liberty does not support, endorse, or oppose candidates for office. The goal of the Campaign for Liberty survey is only for keeping candidates true to their word should they be elected. It should not be construed as an endorsement of any candidate.

You are encouraged to research each of your candidates to make an informed decision on their positions.

Texas Campaign For Liberty has finished our candidate survey project. We asked Texas politicians where they stand on important issues with questions like; "Will you oppose all tax and fee increases and work to cut taxes and spending instead?" and "Will you oppose all infringements on law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment rights?" As usual too many candidates for office that are out asking for your vote have refused to go on the record and sign their name on where they stand on important issues. Please ask them to return their survey every chance you get. As we get new surveys in the page will be updated. Check out the results here.

You know what they say - big things come in little packages. Just ask Andy Smith, Grace Smith's dad.

If you have been following Wyoming news, you may have heard of Grace Smith, the 16-year-old Laramie High School student who was arrested in October for refusing to obey a school mask mandate.

Citing the fact that the school's mask mandate is a violation of the Wyoming Constitution and violates her civil liberties, Grace has done at age 16 what very few have experienced in a lifetime. She has endured multiple school suspensions, received two $500 citations for trespassing, and was arrested for the simple "crime" of attending her high school classes without a mask.

Grace Smith and her father, Andy, have joined a lawsuit to sue Governor Gordon, Wyoming State Health Officer Alexia Harrist, the Wyoming Department of Health, as well as numerous Wyoming school districts.

On Thursday, December 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Grace and her father will join us at our Natrona County Campaign for Liberty meeting. We will gather at the Holiday Inn East, 721 Granite Peak Drive in Casper to hear Grace share her courageous battle to defend individual liberty!

Meeting Details:

Date: Thursday, December 2, 2021
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Holiday Inn East, 721 Granite Peak Drive, Casper
Cost: Free

You can watch Grace’s arrest here.

Benjamin Franklin once said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Grace offers that quote in defense of her actions . . . I would agree with both Franklin and Grace Smith.

Thanks to the hard work of Texas C4L, several other gun rights groups and mostly due to voters and supporters like you Texas passed HB1927 which allows the lawful carry of a legally possessed firearm without a government permit. This is a big step forward in restoring rights that never should have been taken away in the first place. This restoration is not complete and we have more work to do until everyone that can legally posses a firearm can carry it to defend themselves. Right now 18-20 year old persons are excluded from the protections of the bill. There are other restrictions such as places that are off limits to those who are carrying and new signage that can be posted to exclude those carrying. Please familiarize yourself with the law changes by using a source you trust before you start carrying under this bill. Texas DPS is also tasked with free online courses for those that choose to carry. At the time of this post we have not been able to find those videos and hope to see them no later than September 1st. If you want to read the law as it was passed you can do so here. Thank you again to everyone that helped get us here and showed us we can win for Liberty!

With the Constitutional Carry Bill finally signed into law thousands of Texas C4L members like you have seen a victory for Liberty from all of our efforts over the past several years. On September 1, 2021 the law will go into effect and it will no longer be required for anyone 21 and over that can legally possess a handgun to also carry a government permission slip. Despite false warnings from several anti gun groups and doom sayer politicians, expanding gun rights will make Texans safer.

Often in the fight for Liberty we have to settle for small victories or no victory at all. This is time to celebrate a big win in a hard fought battle. Thank you to everyone that made it possible. Our fight isn't over though, even on constitutional carry, some aspects need to be fixed or removed in future sessions such as lowering the age to the age of consent, 18 and removing language that could give police an excuse to unconstitutionally harass those exercising their rights even though they don't have the lawful authority to do so. We will keep you updated but for now I hope everyone enjoys this return of Texas freedom.

Congratulations to our Ohio Campaign for Liberty grassroots supporters who helped push the bill ending sales taxation on gold, silver, and other precious metals across the finish line!

Since money itself is not taxed, it only stands to reason you should not be taxed when you trade one currency for another.

It’s vital that American citizens are able to protect themselves against the continued devaluation of Federal Reserve Notes (also known as “dollars”), especially now that Congress is spending with reckless abandon and the Federal Reserve is printing money at a rate not seen before.

By ending the unjust taxation on precious metals, Ohioans will no longer be punished with taxes simply for choosing gold instead of dollars, and they have also taken a major step forward in ending the Fed’s monopoly on money.

Read more about this important victory below.

Ohio Becomes 41st State to End Sales Taxes on Gold and Silver

By Mike Gleason

Last week, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed a law ending sales taxation of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium bullion and coins. The Buckeye State joins Arkansas as the two states having canceled taxation of the monetary metals so far this year.

Backed by the Sound Money Defense League, Money Metals Exchange, Campaign for Liberty, grassroots activists, and coin dealer representatives, the Ohio legislation bill restores the right of Ohio investors, savers, and small businesses to acquire precious metals without being slapped with sales and use taxes.

Including Ohio, 41 U.S. states now fully or partially exempt gold and silver from state sales taxes.

That leaves nine states –Vermont, New Jersey, Maine, Tennessee, Kentucky, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Mississippi, and Hawaii – and the District of Columbia as jurisdictions that still harshly penalize citizens acquiring the monetary metals to protect their savings against the serial devaluation of the Federal Reserve Note.

Of those remaining nine states, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Wisconsin have recently considered measures to remove the sales tax in their states.

To be sure, the nine states that still fully tax the monetary metals are increasingly embarrassing themselves, because the national tide has turned decisively against this foolish and unjust practice.

Thanks to the hard work of thousands of Texas Liberty activists and gun rights advocates Texas is only one step away from being the 21st constitutional carry state! Make no mistake, without Texas voters like you stepping up to make the calls and emails to demand passage of HB1927 it never would have gotten out of the Texas Legislature. For several sessions the special interests, anti gunners and weak kneed Republican leadership in Austin made sure this bill died over and over again.

This year was different. Immense public pressure on Lt. Governor Dan Patrick got him to switch his position from "we don't have the votes" to pushing the bill through a conference committee in record time despite efforts to add bad amendments designed to kill the bill.

The last step before HB1927 becomes law on Sept. 1, 2021 is for Governor Greg Abbott to sign the bill into law. It has already passed the House and Senate and has now been waiting on his desk to sign for days. The governor has said he would sign the bill if it got to him but anything could happen. Right now special interests and the anti gun rights groups have launched a massive campaign effort to get the governor to break his word and veto the bill. I will be honest, I don't think that will happen but we have to be sure. We didn't come this far to take any chances. We still need you one more time to help us push Constitutional Carry over the finish line. Will you pitch in and make one more call to make sure we win?

Please contact Governor Abbott's office and tell him we expect him to keep his promise to sign HB1927 into law and to do so without any delays. Give his office a call at 512-463-2000 before you forget!

Texas Campaign For Liberty will continue to give you updates as the bill advances.

This could be the year Constitutional Carry passes the Texas legislature!

Imagine not having to ask for a government permission slip to carry a weapon you legally own!

The right to bear arms is one of our most basic and cherished rights. There are currently 20 states that have passed Constitutional Carry, with more on the way.

Texas is behind the curve on gun rights.

In an historic move, the Texas House of Representatives has passed HB 1927, which would make Texas a Constitutional Carry state. The bill even passed on a bipartisan vote!

Even Governor Greg Abbott has committed to signing the bill if it gets to his desk.

And Lt. Governor Dan Patrick recently reversed course after saying he didn't have the votes for it to pass and now says he will let it have a vote on the floor of the Senate.

Constitutional Carry could come up for a vote in the Texas Senate at any time, so with all of this good news why are we still worried?

Many Second Amendment-loving Texas Senators have signaled publicly that they will vote for Constitutional Carry to restore gun rights in Texas.

Unfortunately, not all Republican Senators have committed to vote for the bill, and some have been openly hostile to Constitutional Carry despite it being a legislative priority of the Texas Republican Party!

This is where we need your help.

Without everyone pitching in to push the Constitutional Carry bill through the Texas Senate, all this work and progress could be for nothing.

So please contact Lt. Governor Patrick and all of the Senators below who refuse to go on the record with their position on HB 1927.

Tell them you will be watching their vote and demand they vote for and support HB 1927, the Texas Constitutional Carry bill, at every chance they get with no poison pill amendments.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick -- (512) 463-0001

Sen. Robert Nichols -- (512) 463-0103

Sen. Kel Seliger -- (512) 463-0131

Sen. Jane Nelson -- (512) 463-0112

Sen. Paul Bettencourt -- (512) 463-0107

Sen. Joan Huffman -- (512) 463-0117

Sen. Larry Taylor -- (512) 463-0111

Without all of us pitching in to let these weak-kneed Texas Senators know we are watching their votes very carefully and demanding our Texas gun rights be restored, they may succeed in sinking all of the progress that has taken us years to get to.

Please contact each Texas Senator on the list above and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and let them know you expect them to vote for HB 1927, the Texas Constitutional Carry bill.

Then, please sign our Constitutional Carry petition here and show your support for this important step forward in reclaiming our right to carry.

For the first time, Constitutional Carry went to a floor vote in the Texas house and passed! If this bill becomes law Texans will no longer have to beg for a permission slip from the government to exercise their most basic right to defend themselves. However, this good news that Texas may join the 20 other states with constitutional carry stopped at the door of Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick. Patrick has declared "we don't have the votes on the floor to pass it".

The Texas Senate is controlled by Dan Patrick. He dictates what goes to committee and for a vote and what doesn't. It seems that the rumors that Dan Patrick ginned up opposition from fringe big city police chiefs to justify HIS opposition to the idea of Texans defending themselves without government permission. This isn't the first time we have heard this from him. He said the same thing when open carry passed in Texas.

I hope he is wrong again this time but without Liberty Loving Texans like you and me demanding Lt. Dan bring constitutional carry to the Senate floor for a vote he might get his way. That's why I am asking you to contact Dan Patrick at 512-463-0001 and tell his office you expect him to bring constitutional carry to a vote right away!

When you are done please contact your STATE Senator and tell them the same. (Your state Senator is not Ted Cruz or John Cornyn). You can look up your STATE Senator by going here.

Let's all do our part to make sure we don't loose ground on Constitutional Carry and our historic progress of getting this bill out of the State House. Call Dan Patrick at 512-463-0001 right now and tell him to bring Constitutional Carry to a vote on the floor.
