SPRINGFIELD, Virginia- Today, Campaign for Liberty President John Tate, urged the Virginia State Legislature to reject Governor Bob McDonnell’s amended Transportation Bill (H.B. 2313):

“Last week, instead of responding to overwhelming outrage from liberty-minded Virginians, Governor Bob “Tax Hike” McDonnell chose to tinker with the Transportation Tax Hike bill rather than abandon his plan to inflict the largest tax hike in Virginia history on our state.

“Governor McDonnell appears to believe the answer to Virginia’s transportation nightmare is more power for government and less money in the pockets of hard-working Virginians. Virginians cannot allow ourselves to be the scapegoats for Richmond’s failure to properly budget, set priorities, and cut bureaucracy.

“I ask all liberty-minded Virginians to contact their state senator and delegate today and urge them to oppose H.B. 2313.”
