Region 1

The first Congressional District in Illinois includes part of Cook County, and has been represented by Democrat Bobby Rush since January 1993. It is one of the 40 smallest districts in the United States, covering just 97.84 square miles. It is one of the most reliably Democratic districts in the nation, and Democrats routinely receive over 80% of the vote. Please see this link for a more complete description of Region 1.
