You are paying the health insurance bills for 97% of Obama’s “newly insured.”
ObamaCare stooges swore their scheme would bring prices down, since “everyone would have to pay something in.”
According to Heritage Foundation, 97% of last year’s “newly insured” citizens are on ObamaCare’s expanded Medicaid scheme.
As is usually the case, bureaucrats grossly underestimated the number of people that would apply for Medicaid in states that expanded their programs under ObamaCare.
In fact, in some states, the number of enrollees was almost three times what was expected.
Yet Governor Walker ignored the numbers, the legislature, and the citizens of Alaska and unilaterally expanded ObamaCare in September.
But state legislators will soon have the opportunity to END Governor Walker’s careless ObamaCare expansion scheme – if you take action NOW.
You see, the Alaska Legislature will have to vote on funding Governor Walker’s expansion in this year’s budget bill. If they vote not to fund it, his reckless ObamaCare scheme will end.
But even though most of Alaska’s Republican legislators have claimed to oppose ObamaCare since it passed, many of them are waffling on it now.
As you know, ObamaCare lured states into expanding their Medicaid programs by promising to pay certain associated costs for a couple of years.
But states are required to pay certain associated costs from the moment they expand – costs that Alaska can ill afford.
And in 2017, the federal government will reduce the reimbursement rate significantly, leaving Alaska taxpayers with the obligation to dole out a significant portion of the tab.
Governor Walker is playing a dangerous game with the Alaska budget, and he’s declaring war on fiscal responsibility.
Plunging oil prices and the governor’s refusal to make necessary cuts are wreaking havoc on Alaska’s budgetary obligations.
And it’s only expected to get worse.
Governor Walker burned through state savings at a rate of $10 MILLION PER DAY in 2015!
The budget reserve fund will be quickly depleted if serious cuts aren’t made soon.
Yet, in shocking disregard for reality, Governor Walker expanded a program Alaska was already struggling to fund.
And by December, he was already calling for massive tax hikes – including a state income tax – as part of his plan to close Alaska's MULTIPLE BILLION DOLLAR budget gap. . .
. . . a budget gap made substantially worse by his ObamaCare expansion scheme.
Alaska spends 1.6 BILLION DOLLARS per year on the pre-expansion Medicaid program – and it’s an unsustainable mess.
But that’s not even the worst of it.
One of ObamaCare’s dirty little secrets is that Medicaid expansion throws the truly needy under the bus and forces them to the back of the line.
That’s right. Truly needy Alaskans with serious disabilities are waiting in line for assistance behind able-bodied individuals.
It’s CRITICAL we END Governor Walker’s ObamaCare scheme this year.
Please take action right away and ask your friends and family to do the same.
