What good does it do to have a job if it's not a living wage? Not even close @ the $5.00 / hr example given even if both parents work in the household. Walmart does this now and the taxpayers end up supporting them so that they can have any health care or reasonable amounts of food to eat. Doesn't sound that great to me. The real problem is that corporations profit have gone up 375% while in the same time period workers of all salaries went up an average of 15%. Without minimum wage laws won't these same corporations just extend that difference to a greater degree?
I disagree with his wealth vs work hours or number of people working, in that the last generation (the so called greatest one) could provide a house and necessities for a family (according to several people I've talked to that belong to the "greatest" generation) on one high school educated person, and this is obviously no longer possible.
Also, the brief case jump was just ridiculous ;-). Partially kidding on that one.
