LPAC 2011 - Wish you were there!

I wanted to be the first to share with you what a great time Campaign for Liberty had at the first annual Liberty Political Action Conference in Reno, Nevada!

C4L members and like-minded liberty activists from across the country converged on Reno, Nevada for three days of speeches, training, and networking with their fellow patriots.
Choose Liberty

The event kicked off Thursday evening with speeches from Campaign for Liberty Executive Director Matt Hawes and Conservative Caucus Founder Howard Phillips.

Dudley Brown –- Executive Director of National Association for Gun Rights –- gave a speech exposing the truth behind the NRA’s complicity with gun control proponents such as supporting Senator Harry Reid in 2010 and opposing Senator Paul’s gun amendment to the so-called “Patriot” Act.

The evening wrapped up with an important speech from Nicole Kurokawa describing the need to frame the liberty movement’s compassionate message in a way that reaches out to women, and radio host and actor Jerry Doyle gave a rousing speech to close out the night.

Friday morning, attendees heard from Senator Rand Paul as he described the challenges of defending liberty in a Senate dominated by statists.

Few freshman Senators have been able to secure roll call votes on their amendments and bills in the way Senator Paul has and it was truly a great opportunity for attendees to hear about the inner workings of the Senate.

On Friday night, as you may already be aware through photos on social networks, and the numerous articles published about it, a surprise, special guest to LPAC -– actor Vince Vaughn, introduced Congressman Ron Paul!

Following the keynote address on “Liberty Defined” by Congressman Paul, musician and activist Jordan Page rocked the house while Senator Paul, Congressman Paul, Vince Vaughn, and famous gulf-blues musician Jimmie Vaughan mingled with folks and took pictures.

On Saturday, Senator Mike Lee addressed the crowd.  As it happened to be Constitution Day, his speech focused on the urgent need to return to strict constitutional government.

He also discussed one of his favorite parts of the Constitution (and mine) -– Letters of Marque and Reprisal –- promising attendees that when he gets one, we’ll all sail together as privateers on the high seas!

On a more serious note, throughout the weekend, our sponsors hosted panel discussions on important topics including the “War on Terrorism,” the assault on our civil liberties, and how to be effective organizers on the local level.

In addition to the great speeches, throughout the conference activists received our top-notch grassroots training from Mike Rothfeld, Kirk Shelley, and others.

This exciting event left many folks feeling inspired, as we were able to highlight just a glimpse of the successes Campaign for Liberty is having on the local, state, and federal level!

Based on the reaction from those in attendance, the first LPAC was a resounding success with attendees leaving reinvigorated with a passion to Restore the Constitution and Reclaim the Republic!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be uploading the videos onto the Campaign for Liberty website. If you weren’t able to attend, or even if you were and would like to watch something again, stay tuned to CampaignforLiberty.org and be sure to check out photos of the conference on our Flickr site

For those of you who were unable to attend, we hope you’ll be able to make it to LPAC 2012!
