I am the current Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Broward County Florida. We have taken as out current project the elimination of the "War on Drugs". With this in mind we are asking people to join us by coming to our meetings and getting involved, telling their stories and experiences with this ill begotten and failing program. Almost every one of us knows of someone who have been hurt by this policy either personally, a family member, or a friend locked up and damaged with a conviction of some kind.
Ron Paul has had the courage to call for the ending of this failed policy as long as he has been in the political aurena. We do NOT IN ANY WAY ADVOCATE THE USE OF MIND ALTERING SUBSTANCES. Quite the contrary. We like Ron Paul simply believe that it NOT the role of the FEDERAL government to get involved in drug regulation nor is it a freedom we may be deprived of without colloidal damage.
Ron Paul and Barney Frank have introduced legislation that would remove marijuana from the list of restricted substances and allow the states to regulate it and tax it. This bill is a good step in removing the Federal Government "War on DRUGS". Please look up this bill and ask your congress person to support it.
