WHO WE ARE GET INVOLVED CANDIDATE SURVEYS ON THE ISSUES ABOUT AUDIT THE FED

Then Act Decently

Retiring Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA-8) has been in the news recently for suggesting that members of Congress, who receive $174,000 a year, aren't paid enough, going as far as to introduce a doomed amendment in committee to address the problem he sees.  (This causes one to wonder, what exactly is adequate yearly compensation for wrecking the country?)

The response is, well, what you might expect, with Congressman Moran noting in a Roll Call interview that:

... his office received thousands of phone calls after his April 3 statements to CQ Roll Call, many of them full of expletives, and all in opposition to the proposal.

Congressman Moran also forecasted "pay could stay the same 5, 10 or even 15 years from now, while inflation and market prices keeps rising."

Now this is a valid point, but one that Congress is in a much better position to do something about than the average American struggling under the crushing effect of the establishment's policies.

Rein in spending, return to sound money, stick to the Constitution, and allow our dollar to gain strength.

In a previous Roll Call article, Congressman Moran opined:

“Our pay has been frozen for three years and we’re planning on freezing it a fourth year. … A lot of members can’t even afford to live decently in Washington,” he said.

A lot of Americans are finding it increasingly hard to make a living in many places across the country (Thanks, Federal Reserve).  Instead of raising its pay, it's time Congress grew up, faced reality, and tightened its belt to restore our currency's purchasing power.  If they want to live decently (and it's absurd to say they can't right now), they should first act decently.
