Some good news: The Trump Administration has decided against ending or limiting “open skies” agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Instead, the UAE countries must submit to several conditions, such as preforming an annual audit that makes “internationally accepted financial standards.”
This is a victory for American businesses and workers engaged in international travel and trade, and a defeat for the Obama-Clinton loyalists who led the lobbying campaign against Open Skies. It is also a political and philosophical victory for those like Campaign for Liberty Chair Ron Paul, who have made the case for years that free trade is (to borrow a phrase) the way to make America great again.
