The Wyoming Business Council, through its Business Ready Communities program, has effectively become a commercial lender and subsidy provider, using citizen resources to give grants and sweetheart deals to private corporations, private investors, private developers, and business owners.
This program of crony capitalism works in direct opposition to the best interests of a free society and free markets.
One of the changes being considered would require a 100% recapture of all funds going to private businesses through the Business Ready grant and loans programs.
Wyoming needs to end the practice of providing these subsidies altogether, but until then, we should insist on a 100% recapture of our precious taxpayer resources.

Whereas: The Wyoming Business Council has transferred the assets of Wyoming citizens to the benefit of for-profit private interests, and
Whereas: The Wyoming Business Council is picking winners and losers by providing government welfare - disguised as economic development - which in turn distorts the free market, and
Whereas: The Wyoming Business Council is using the reserves of Wyoming cities, which rightfully should go towards public infrastructure needs.
Therefore: We the citizens of Wyoming hereby demand that any and all grants and loans awarded to all private business ventures be recaptured 100 percent.
