Measure 22 has been cleverly marketed as legislation aimed at reducing “big money” and “outside influence” in local elections.
It is actually designed to keep you from speaking out about candidates for office.
Although the initiative may be worded to make you believe it cleans up the political process, beware.
It is meant to silence you, and it puts taxpayers on the hook for $12 million per year to pay for elections.
Don’t fall for it.
Sign the petition to let your legislators know you won't fall for this attempt to silence you and make you pay $12 million per year out-of-pocket for elections. Tell them any attempt to support Measure 22 or fund any law that removes your right to speak out will not be tolerated.

PETITION TO MY LEGISLATORS
WHEREAS, Measure 22 is in direct opposition to the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, and
WHEREAS, Measure 22 is a disguised attempt to silence constituents from speaking out about the voting records of candidates for office, and
WHEREAS, Measure 22 would require taxpayers to pay $12 million per year to fund elections.
THEREFORE, support for Measure 22 or the funding of any law that directly or indirectly censors, persecutes, or otherwise oppresses voters from speaking out about a candidate's voting record will not be tolerated.
