Whereas: Governor Kelly’s order effectively placing Kansans under house arrest has destroyed our freedoms and economy; and
Whereas: The governor’s actions will likely lead to consequences far worse than the virus itself; and
Whereas: These actions are in direct violation of the Kansas Bill of Rights, including (but not limited to) Sections 1, 3, and 7; and
Whereas: Article 1, Section 3 of the Kansas Constitution states that the governor “shall be responsible for the enforcement of the laws of this state.”
Therefore: We the people of the great state of Kansas demand that Governor Kelly immediately rescind her "stay at home" order and open up Kansas so that we may take personal responsibility for our own personal safety and decide for ourselves whether or not to work, shop, gather, and in general be free to exercise our pre-existing and constitutionally protected right to do so.
