Whereas: The taxpayers of Cecil County have been financially burdened by tax and/or fee increases for three straight years, and
Whereas: Every sitting member of the Cecil County Council promised to fight tax and fee increases while running for office, and
Whereas: Tax and fee increases are a product of increased government spending, and
Whereas: Working families are forced to create a budget based on the income that they earn and will be forced decrease their spending because the county will take more of their earnings if the proposed FY2017 budget is passed as is.
Therefore: We the citizens of Cecil County, demand that the County Council reduce the proposed budget and remove all included tax and fee increases.
