Dear Supporter,
Despite your many phone calls, petitions, and a protest before the vote, the Newton County Board of Commissioners (BoC) refused to listen to your demands and once again raised property taxes instead of cutting wasteful spending.
Now we must remind them of the folly of voting against the wishes of the citizens who pay for that tax increase!

Petition to Lower Property Taxes
WHEREAS: The citizens of Newton County are facing overwhelming financial hardship in these tough economic times; and
WHEREAS: The response to the most recent property tax increase by citizens was widespread and fiercely negative; and
WHEREAS: Newton families must make cuts to their budget in order to survive; and
WHEREAS: Public servants are elected to make the tough decisions to eliminate government waste and balance the budget through responsible cuts in spending.
