Stop ObamaCare Expansion in Tennessee

Governor Bill Haslam is working to unleash optional pieces of ObamaCare on Tennessee, and he's pressuring Republicans in the legislature to pass his dangerous ObamaCare expansion scheme this year.

This scheme will cost us billions by creating a new permanent dependency class, and they’ll either have to make huge cuts in spending or raise taxes to pay for it.

Not only that, but ObamaCare expansion will bring less health care freedom, more fraud, and lower quality medical care. And if Tennessee expands, it will be that much harder to get rid of ObamaCare for good.

Please take action TODAY to stop it by signing the petition below.

Whereas: The Tenth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States reads as follows: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people"; and

Whereas: The Tenth Amendment assures that we, the people of the United States of America and each sovereign state in the Union of States, now have and have always had rights the federal government may not usurp; and

Whereas: The federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“PPACA”), also known as ObamaCare, attempts to lure the states into expanding their Medicaid programs, which is optional under ObamaCare, by promising to pay certain costs associated with the expansion for a couple of years, leaving the state with the responsibility to pay all new administrative expenses and eventually pick up other significant expenses, which Tennessee cannot afford; and

Whereas: Expanding Medicaid entitlements will cause irreparable harm to Tennessee taxpayers and Tennessee health care; and

Whereas: Governor Haslam and certain Tennessee legislators are working diligently to bring Medicaid expansion to the state.

Therefore, be it resolved that we, the citizens of the great state of Tennessee demand that our State Representatives and State Senators actively oppose and vote NO on any proposal that attempts to expand Medicaid in Tennessee; and

Be it further resolved that we demand Governor Haslam withdraw his support for, and actively oppose and veto, any legislation that attempts to expand Medicaid in Tennessee.
