PATRIOT'S PETITION to: MY STATE SENATOR & REPRESENTATIVE
WHEREAS: Red Light Cameras are a direct violation of rights protected by the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution; and
WHEREAS: Red Light Cameras are detrimental to safety, because they are often placed in dangerous locations where signal timing can be altered to increase revenues; and
WHEREAS: Studies have shown that the use of Red Light Cameras increase accidents, contradicting the claims made by the private companies who operate them; and
WHEREAS: Evidence show that Red Light Cameras are being used to generate funds, and not to promote safety, as claimed by legislators and local officials.
THEREFORE: The undersigned urge you to support and vote for Senate Bill 181, which would repeal and prohibit the use of Red Light Cameras in the state of Colorado.
