Whereas: The city’s budget has sky rocketed since the 2008 financial crisis, and
Whereas: Mayor Stanton proposed a budget that increases sales tax on the poor and middle class by 32 billion dollars, and
Whereas: It is the not the responsibility of the Phoenix City Council to pass the financial burden of out-of-control spending to the residents of Phoenix, and
Whereas: Phoenix roads can be repaired and transportation can be improved without hiking taxes.
Therefore, be it resolved that we, the undersigned will demand that the Phoenix City Council reject the mayors proposed budget, tighten their belts, and pass an alternative proposal that funds transportation without raising taxes.
