Lakota School Board plans to spend $300,000 to give away the Old Union School!
Under the proposed deal, Lakota Taxpayers will fork out $300,000 to tear down the Old Union School, a historic property that has plenty of life left in it. They are doing this so their friends at the Boys and Girls Club can build their own building on the property and "lease" it from us for $1 per year... indefinitely.
So while we still "technically" own the property, they will own the building sitting on it. This means we can never take it back.
This plan is scandalous and wrong but the school board is ignoring opposition. Let's make sure they hear us loud and clear!
