Tell Representative Austin Scott: NO INTERNET TAXES!

Dear Georgia Citizen,

The tax-and-spenders in Congress have found another (BIG!) way to pick your pocket.

The power to tax is the power to destroy—and now, the ability to track what you purchase.

The misnamed “Marketplace Fairness Act” may be coming up for a vote soon, and Representative Austin Scott supports it!

If passed, this dangerous bill will turn the Commerce Clause on its head, as tax collectors in one state would be free to pursue retailers across state lines.

But many politicians lining up behind this bill don’t just want your cash.

Under the guise of “national security,” establishment bureaucrats are feverishly looking for new ways to monitor all Americans’ online activity. This bill will help them gain even more power to do just that.

Do not be fooled. This bill is not about fairness. And it isn’t just about taxes, either. If passed, it will hurt the American taxpayer, business owners, and YOUR INTERNET PRIVACY!

It would give even more power to a government entrenched in both the NSA scandal and the IRS targeting of conservatives.

So please sign your No National Internet Tax petition and make your voice heard. Tell Representative Austin Scott to reverse his position and vote NO.

No National Internet Tax Petition

to Representative Austin Scott:

WHEREAS: Tax-and-spenders in Congress never stop looking for ways to pick Americans’ pockets with higher taxes; and

WHEREAS: The National Internet Tax Mandate will turn the Commerce Clause on its head, cripple small businesses, hurt the American taxpayer, and destroy Internet privacy; and

WHEREAS: Under the National Internet Tax Mandate, Georgia residents would see their taxes go up as state tax agencies work across state lines to implement a sales tax on ALL goods purchased online; and

WHEREAS: New and higher taxes would CRUSH economic growth and set the stage for massive new regulations that threaten the very existence of the Internet; and

WHEREAS: The National Internet Tax Mandate would open the door for tax agencies to track and monitor all purchases made online by Americans.

THEREFORE: As your constituent, I demand you change your position and vote against the National Internet Tax Mandate (H.R. 684).
