Petition to my Wisconsin Senators and Assembly Representatives
Whereas: Barack Obama is doing everything he can to ram gun control down the throats of the American people; and
Whereas: By definition, criminals don’t obey laws and new gun control laws make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their families; and
Whereas: The Second Amendment clearly states “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”; and
Whereas: The Tenth Amendment clearly states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."; and
Whereas: The Wisconsin Firearm Freedom Act would make it illegal for any local or state law enforcement officer to carry out orders from a federal mandate that would restrict magazines, other firearm accessories, or types and amounts of ammo in your possession; and
Whereas: The Wisconsin Firearm Freedom Act would make it a crime for any state official to carry out federal gun confiscation orders in Wisconsin;
Therefore: As your constituent, I INSIST you cosponsor and then support the Wisconsin Firearm Freedom Act (LRB-2063/1) in every way possible to ensure passage.
