Four American citizens have been killed in drone strikes, including militant Anwar Awlaki in Yemen. Two other Americans identified as Al Qaeda supporters were inadvertently slain in drone strikes, and Awlaki's teenage son, who was not considered a militant, was killed in a strike weeks after his father's death.

The Department of Labor is poised to put the finishing touches on a rule that would apply child-labor laws to children working on family farms, prohibiting them from performing a list of jobs on their own families’ land.

In a lawsuit against three Indiana government officials, a labor union alleged on Wednesday that its constitutional rights under the Thirteenth Ammendment— which outlawed “slavery” and “involuntary servitude” — are violated whenever its members are forced to work alongside nonunion employees.

Mackinac Center for Public Policy senior legal analyst Patrick Wright said on Friday that the union’s legal argument “expands the definition of chutzpah.”

In the wake of the General Services Administration scandal, Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul is asking House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa to investigate President Barack Obama’s administration’s choice to allow government employees to hold conferences in Las Vegas.

Paul specifically asked Issa to investigate “how many government agency conferences, from any agency throughout government, were held in Las Vegas” under the Obama’s administration. - The Daily Caller

In 2002, the FBI found after it analyzed DNA in 80 selected hair cases that its agents had reported false matches more than 11 percent of the time. “I don’t believe forensic science truly understood the significance of microscopic hair comparison, and it wasn’t until [DNA] that we learned that 11 percent of the time, two hairs can be microscopically similar yet come from different people,” said Dwight E. Adams, who directed the FBI lab from 2002 to 2006.

Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order Thursday creating a health care exchange in New York, an online marketplace where consumers can shop for competing health insurance plans.

The move brings New York into compliance with President Obama's Affordable Care Act which requires each state to have a health exchange by 2014. 11 other states have set up the exchanges.
