Hi my name is Rich. I grew up in Media, PA and recently moved back. I was a life long Republican until shortly after I voted a 2nd time for George W. Bush. It became clear to me that on any issues of substance, there was very little difference between Republicans and Democrats. Also, I began to rethink my own political idealogy which was really born out of a religious right upbringing. Anyway, after Ron Paul did not get the Republican Nomination in 2008 I changed my registration to independent. If I were to put a label on myself it would be libertarian (small L). At this point in time I am not really comfortable associating myself with any party, but I have to say my views line up closest with the Liberarian Party.
In 2008, I really wish that Ron Paul had run as an independent in the general election. Instead he threw his endorsement behind Chuck Baldwin with which I was not at all comfortable. I begrudgingly cast my vote for Bob Barr, knowing that he was not truly a libertarian, but rather a disgruntled republican. Either way, I saw him as the least of evils (in the past I have voted for lesser of two) and he was the candidate for the most marketable party that would at least benefit from whatever votes they could garner. Either way, I was glad I did not vote for McCain or Obama.
Thanks for taking time to read,
