About Me
I've been retired since in 2003 from the Motion Picture Industry due to to several serious, progressive, life-threatening illnesses. I was employed as a Production Medic and Medical Technical Advisor since 1979.I am also a(Retired)member of the IATSE, [International Alliance of Theatrical Studio Employees of the United States & Canada] Local 767 (Studio First Aid Employees). My wife & I moved from Southern California to Maine in 2004 because, for example housing costs in California were far more expensive than we could afford, since we were unsucessfully trying to make ends meet with my sole "income", Social Security Disability. Despite having medical/health care insurance, Medicare AND private healthcare insurance,Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield, I have enormous healthcare expenses - varying from $8744.00/Month to $26,262.00 per month AFTER my insurances have paid! The combination of both is SUPPOSED to cover 100% of my medical costs...but it doesn't! Our entire healthcare system is failing! I have been diagnosed (and am being treated for)End-Stage Renal Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, Spinal Stenosis, a 4.6 inch Abdominal Aortic Anurysm, Atrial Fibrillation, Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Peripheral Neuropathy, Pancytopenia, Severe Anemia, etc.
