"Voluntary compliance" is Orwellian double-speak used by Governor Snyder and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to describe the situation where farmers shoot their whole herd of heritage breed pigs out of fear of becoming a felon and being thrown in jail.

 H R 3523      RECORDED VOTE      26-Apr-2012      6:31 PM

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has issued an Invasive Species Order outlawing heritage breed pigs on family farms.  The DNR has defined this order such that all pigs are outlawed and then carves out an exception for factory confined pig operations.

The DNR claims that there is a feral pig problem in Michigan, yet they are forcing farmers to kill pigs that are enclosed in fences and pens.  In fact only 50 feral pigs were killed in the wild during 2011, yet over 140,000 deer will killed during the same time frame.

Email reply from Senator Anderson concerning the DNR and it's invasive species order.  Recently, the DNR has raided family farms with guns to forcefully kill whole herds of hetitage breed pigs.

Dear Tony,

Your efforts to stop SnyderCare are making a difference, but the issue is not dead yet.

You may have heard that House Republicans have stepped back from their plans to unleash National Health Care on the Michigan.

The latest reports indicate that they are now taking a “wait-and-see” approach, opting to wait for the court to decide before they proceeds with SnyderCare.
