Keeping America Safe...

... from the Amish menace.

If you haven't yet heard the news, it's official, the FDA won its case against Dan Allgyer, an Amish farmer whose unspeakable crime -- selling raw milk -- has now forced him to shut down his farm, "Rainbow Acres," altogether.

For Mr. Allgyer, a man whose fight with the FDA goes back two years [see April 2010 post in comments], the price was particularly steep.  The Judge ruled that if found in violation again, he'll be forced to pay the FDA's cost of investigating and prosecuting him.

Nevermind for a second that Congress has never passed a law banning the interstate commerce of raw milk.

Nevermind that the FDA, as is often the case with Washington's out-of-control regulatory regime, unilaterally wrote the regulations banning the interstate commerce of raw milk.

And for the moment, we'll overlook the FDA's use of entrapment, by posing as a member of the "Grassfed on the Hill Buying Club" a food cooperative with nearly 500 members, to ensnare Allgyer after their 5am farm raid paid little in dividends.

Sleep tight, America. And know that at least one Amish menace, selling milk straight from a cow to willing consumers is, off the farm.

You humans affect me. Dick or Liz Chaney absolutely are not absolutely important apropos the affair at hand. The absolute catechism is WHY WOULD ERIC HOLDER HIRE A BUNCH OF LAWYERS WHO HAVE A HISTORY OF DEFENDING TERRORISTS to abetment him in his job with the amends department? I'm acquainted that your abstraction of THE LAW and/or befitting this nation safe ability be a little idealistic, but accessible your eyes! How would you acknowledge if a bourgeois advocate accepted assassin several attorneys with backgrounds of DEFENDING MEMBERS OF THE KU KLUX KLAN? I get it that you abhorrence George W, Dick Cheney, and Liz, but try to use a little accepted faculty apropos absolutely which foxes should be attention the henhouse.

Whenever I see photos of the monuments in Washington D.C., like the one shown here, I no longer think primarily of Washington, D.C... I am instead reminded of the architecture of the Roman Empire, because an empire is what it now represents.

Undoubtedly the right

Undoubtedly the right decision. There are very good reasons for pasteurization of milk. This is not a freedom issue. Grow up!

Troll much?

Raw milk absolutely is a freedom issue, one of personal choice, and  one that underscores the fundamental problem in our society -- a lack of personal responsibility.

I applaud individuals who choose to drink raw milk for themselves and their families, if for nothing else other than they actually know where their milk is coming from and they trust the farmer who sold it to them.

Reagan

Ronald Reagan's FDA created these regulations in 1987.  Clearly, we need to tear down the constraining regulation brought upon us by the evil, nation destroying, Reagan.  His policies have been subverting our freedoms for 31 years, and we must bring them to an end!

This is not a partisan issue

Onerous regulations, brought on by both Republican and Democrat parties have created the out-of-control regulatory environment we currently find ourselves in. The point is, these unconstitutional regulations ought to carry no force of law since only Congress is granted authority to write laws.

"Dairy Farmer Gets Raw Deal" - April 2010

From The Daily Caller:

"They came in the dark, shining bright flashlights while my family was asleep, keeping me from milking my cows, from my family, from breakfast with my family and from our morning devotions, and alarming my children enough so that the first question they asked my wife was, ‘Is Daddy going to jail?'"

That's how Amish farmer Dan Allgyer described an early morning visit last week from two FDA agents, two U.S. Marshals, and a Pennsylvania state trooper. Apparently, investigating a single farmer for possibly trafficking raw milk across state lines requires a show of force.

Without telling him what is was, one of the agents handed Allgyer an FDA warrant that allowed the agents to inspect Allgyer's farm. The warrant read: "You are authorized to take all necessary actions, including, but not limited to, the use of reasonable force, to effectuate entry to the above-named premises, the land and buildings located there, at reasonable times during ordinary business hours and to remain thereon to inspect within reasonable limits and in a reasonable manner all portions" of Allgyer's farm.

When Allgyer asked why the agents wanted to inspect his farm, FDA investigator Joshua C. Shafer said, "We have credible evidence that you are involved in interstate commerce."

Read the rest of Allgyer's story.

If we believe in personal liberty, then we must defend one's right to eat, drink, or put into one's own body whatever they choose.  Raw Milk is an example of government regulations not keeping up with the times.

Like other prohibitions, this is one that turns everyday, ordinary, law-abiding citizens into criminals for no reason other than our nanny state says it's bad for you.

OK so now what?

Rather than putting an article out here that is just going to get people worked up, how about adding something that we can do to sucessfully counter this attack on the freedoms of the American people. We need SOLUTIONS, a plan of action, what can we do? Other than sit back and watch this take place.  I see people on Facebook calling for pitchforks and torches,  although I do nto agree with the sentiment, I do agree we need sound instruction on how to stop this. We need voices in the public arena, we need representation on a National stage. We need answers to all these questions, Who? What? When? Why? and How? Please throw us a bone here, where do we start. Once we get started and get momentun heading in our direction, then we can get something accomplished other than sitting around and complaining. The Founders were men of ACTION, that backed up their words, I feel we need the same.

Glad you asked...

The first step to solving any problem is first making sure people realize there is a real problem that needs solving.

The solution to dealing with the FDA's assault on the interstate sale of raw milk is to urge your representative to cosponsor and seek a roll call vote on H.R. 1830, the "Milk Freedom Act."  In addition, Senate companion legislation was recently introduced so you can urge senators to cosponsor and seek roll call votes on S. 1955
