Dear Patriot,
Constitutional Carry (LD 660)--which would "legalize" the constitutional carrying of firearms in Maine--is currently in the Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee, and the Committee Chairs have not yet scheduled a public hearing for the bill. Not scheduling a hearing is a way to kill bills without putting anyone on the record.
You must let all committee members know that not scheduling a hearing and having a roll call vote is the same as voting to kill the bill.
Contact the Committee Chairs immediately and urge them to schedule a hearing for Constitutional Carry (LD 660).

Currently, if you want to carry a concealed weapon in Maine, to defend yourself and your family, you need permission from the state....
Fingerprint databases. Statist licensing schemes. Hefty fees. The never-ending bureaucratic application process.
Why does the state discourage law-abiding citizens from carrying a concealed firearm?
You and I both know that criminals do not ask for permission to legally carry a firearm!
These overbearing and UNCONSTITUTIONAL “regulations” and “requirements” undermine the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s time Maine's Second Amendment supporters said, “Enough is enough!”
If passed, Constitutional Carry would restore the right of every law-abiding citizen to carry a gun to protect themselves and their families - WITHOUT going through a bunch of bureaucratic rigmarole!
In short, if you’re legally able to own a firearm, you’re legally able to carry it. Period.
This is the way it’s done in Alaska, Arizona, and Vermont--and most of Idaho and Montana.
And despite the hand-wringing of the gun-grabbers, the news media, and government bureaucrats, those states have not seen a rise in shootouts and vigilante justice since passing Constitutional Carry.
I know you’re not surprised.
After all, career criminals know that attacking a “victim” armed with a concealed firearm often results in early “retirement”!
One last thing--inside sources say that Sen. Garrett Mason and Rep. Aaron Libby will commit to call for a roll call vote of Constitutional Carry (LD 660). Call them and remind them to do so.
