WHO WE ARE GET INVOLVED CANDIDATE SURVEYS ON THE ISSUES ABOUT AUDIT THE FED

It's so horrible, establishment angry

Campaign for Liberty supports your right to belong to the political party of your choice, and we support your right not to join a party, too. But there is a big battle brewing this weekend at the GOP State Convention I think you’ll want to know about.

Stopping Common Core, decreasing the federal budget, and standing up for states’ rights. . .

Do those sound like horrible things to you?

It seems that many in the current Establishment of the Republican Party think so.

This coming weekend is the Wisconsin Republican Party Convention, and it is shaping up to be quite a battle.

On one side, you have the party Establishment that doesn’t want to make waves, doesn’t want to take conservative or liberty positions on issues, and simply wants to go along to get along.

On the other side, you have the liberty movement, tea party activists, and conservative activists who are sick and tired of this trimming around the edges while government gets bigger and bigger and bigger.

It seems those currently in power in the Wisconsin Republican Party are not very keen on actually holding politicians accountable to the values we hold and the promises they make.

At issue are several resolutions - including one resolution that calls for a vote of “No Confidence” in Senator Luther Olsen for his blatant support of centralized education through Common Core.

Another resolution that is driving them mad is one denouncing the budget proposals Paul Ryan continues to put forward that do nothing to cut spending, but rather, they rely on hope and faith that some future Congress will hopefully cut spending – maybe - someday.

Just to show you the Establishment is scared, they are now working a new angle to try and discredit liberty supporters.

The resolution I am talking about is a states’ rights resolution where one line was added by Waukesha County in the State Resolutions Committee that says Wisconsin should reserve the right to secede from the union in extreme cases.

It is significant that this came from Waukesha - this is the county delegation that led the effort to shut off the voices of grassroots activists last year.

It seems this issue was inserted in the states’ rights plank as an attempt by the Establishment to discredit the entire resolution process as extreme.

Just take a look at this Washington Times article to see how this fight is shaping up on a national scale.

So what can you do to help?

First, if you are a delegate this year, make sure you show up at the state convention being held this weekend. On Saturday, resolutions will be debated and voted on. Click here to buy your tickets.

Second, if you are NOT a delegate, get involved now for next year. What is happening now is proof that we are winning, but we need your help to keep the momentum going. Click here to learn more about being a delegate next year.

Liberty is rising in Wisconsin, and 2016 is coming up fast; with your help, we will continue this momentum toward smaller government and holding politicians accountable.

I look forward to seeing you at the convention this year or as a delegate next year.

In Liberty,

Todd Welch
State Coordinator
Wisconsin Campaign for Liberty
