Spotsylvania Victory!

Campaign for Liberty

Dear Friend,

Over 185 Virginia Campaign for Liberty petitions were submitted from Spotsylvania residents against the proposed stadium.

And thanks to Campaign for Liberty activists like you, Spotsylvania is spared from the $28 million Baseball Bailout. . . for now.

The deadline set by Minor League Baseball for the team to get a deal passed by the county expired.

That’s because the mega-construction/political/baseball consultant from Fredericksburg couldn’t twist enough arms to get one more vote from the Board of Supervisors to cash in on the taxpayer funded deal.

But our work is far from done.

Instead of voting to kill the horrible deal, the Board of Supervisors voted 4-3 to continue negotiations, leaving the door open for extra innings.

In fact, Supervisor Gary Skinner even took a page out of progressive Nancy Pelosi’s playback when he implied the board needed to vote to continue negotiations so we could find out more about the deal.

To make matters worse, the Fredericksburg city consultant is pledging to return after the November elections.

You see, Supervisor David Ross fought the Baseball Bailout from day one.

And the mega-construction/political/baseball consultant from Fredericksburg is hoping he’ll lose so he can get the fourth vote he needs to pass the Baseball Bailout.

We can’t afford to hedge our bets on one supervisor’s seat.

That’s why I’m counting on you to forward this email to your friends and neighbors immediately and ask them to sign the petition against the $28 million Baseball Bailout.

Of course, if you haven’t signed it yourself, I hope you’ll do so now.

It’s crucial we keep the pressure high against the Baseball Stadium Bailout.

So please, forward this email to a friend and encourage them to sign this petition right away.

P.S. Spotsylvania activists earned a temporary victory against the $28 million Baseball Bailout.

But outside consultants are promising to come back after the November elections in hopes a pro-Baseball Bailout candidate wins.

That’s why I’m counting on you to forward this email to your friends and neighbors immediately and ask them to sign the petition against the $28 million Baseball Bailout.

P.P.S. Below is the photo of over 185 Virginia Campaign for Liberty petitions against the Baseball Bailout right before they were presented to the Spotsylvania Supervisors. Thanks for your help in the fight.
