WHO WE ARE GET INVOLVED CANDIDATE SURVEYS ON THE ISSUES ABOUT AUDIT THE FED

Liberty Legislation - 113th Congress

The 113th Congress has convened and to make sure everyone stays up-to-date, here's an update on the latest pro-liberty legislation already introduced.

In addition to reintroducing Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill (H.R. 24), Georgia Congressman Paul Broun has reintroduced several other bills once sponsored by Congressman Paul:

  • H.R. 73 - "The Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act" - This bill to "End the Fed" would abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Reserve banks, and repeal the Federal Reserve Act.
  • H.R. 77 - "Free Competition in Currencies Act" -  This bill would repeal legal tender laws and prohibit taxation on certain coins and bullion. In repealing legal tender laws, this bill would abolish the Federal Reserve's monopoly over what is considered "money" and open the Fed up to competition.
  • H.R. 75 -  "American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2013" - This bill would end US membership in the United Nations.

Another bill of interest from Dr. Paul's repertoire was introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie (KY-4), H.R. 133, "The Citizens Protection Act of 2013."  This bill would repeal the "Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990" and allow citizens to defend themselves from acts of violence perpetrated by criminals or the mentally ill.  You can read more about this bill in the latest post from C4L Intern John Watts.

While there will certainly be more pro-liberty legislation introduced in the coming weeks and months, this is a great start to be aware of in the 113th Congress!

Contact your representative today and urge them to support these common sense pieces of legislation.
