Rand Paul, Thomas Massie Prime for Liberty

Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul have introduced the PRIME Act (H.R. 3187/S. 2651). This legislation exempts slaughterhouses from federal inspections as long as the slaughterhouses are in compliance with state laws and only sell their products to consumers and businesses in their home state.

The PRIME Act will benefit small business that find it difficult to comply with costly federal regulations. Consumers will also benefit from increased choice and lower prices.

The Prime Act is part of Representative Massie's "food freedom" package, which also includes legislation protecting our right to drink raw milk.

Campaign for Liberty members who support repealing federal regulations that raise the cost of our food should call their representatives and ask the cosponsor H.R. 3187 and call their senators and ask they cosponsor S. 2651.
